When Jack Steele was asked to leave school in Year 11, he didn’t have much of a plan other than to “go for it”.
After spending a few years as a carpenter with his dad, in 2019, Jack and his mate Matt, better known as Falcon, set off to Europe to figure out what they were going to do with the rest of their lives.
So, in a dodgy AirBnB in the Swiss Alps with no Wi-Fi, they started creating content.
After producing over 100 videos in only six months, their Instagram account, The Inspired Unemployed, took off when one of their videos went viral.
Over the past 5 years, Jack has found that the best way to create content that people connected with was to be vulnerable.
For The Inspired Unemployed, vulnerability mostly looks like making fun of themselves and Australian masculine stereotypes. From talking through how to ask someone out, to how to deal with anxiety, both Jack and Falcon use humility and comedy to make people laugh, and not feel so alone.
Today, The Inspired Unemployed has over 3.5 million followers over Instagram, TikTok and Facebook.
