With a career in the media spanning more than 20 years, Michael Wipfli, or Wippa, is a mainstay of Australian radio, a television presenter, comedian, and dad to three.
Wippa hosts the hugely popular NOVA Sydney Breakfast Show, Fitzy & Wippa with Kate Richie.
Before all the top rating radio shows, Wippa began his career as a builder.
Upon completing a short radio course at TAFE, Wippa sent his demo to radio stations all over the country and eventually landed a gig in Port Augusta. This led to an opportunity to work as the panel op and stunt guy for Hamish & Andy (A gig he was fired from, but hey, no hard feelings).
Wippa eventually got his first big break as a host of a Perth breakfast radio show called, Em, Wippa & Ollie with Em Rusciano. But after four years in Perth, Wippa joined NOVA to host their drive show called Ryan, Monty & Wippa, with The Imperfect’s own Ryan Shelton.
In 2010, Wippa moved onto NOVA’s Sydney Breakfast Show with Ryan Fitzgerald, better known as Fitzy, becoming one of the biggest radio duos in the country ever since.
