Guy Montgomery is an award-winning New Zealand Comedian.

Guy graduated from university with the realisation that no career path held any long-term appeal. He loved making people laugh, however couldn’t bear the thought of doing bad stand-up in front of his friends, so he, logically, moved to Canada.

In Toronto, Guy performed ten shows a week, minimum, and began to hone a community for himself within the comedy scene.

In 2014, before podcasts were cool, Guy began ‘The Worst Idea of All Time’ podcast with Tim Blatt. This podcast began based on the idea of re-watching the same movie each week for a year, and reviewing different aspects of it. The first season centred around Grown-Ups 2, the second season Sex and the City 2 (you get the idea). This podcast is still recording today.

Guy has also been touring comedy shows at International Comedy Festivals since 2014. Guy won a Billy T award in 2014, a Fred award in 2023 and “Best of the Fest” at the 2023 Sydney Comedy Festival.

Guy also has a longstanding career in television and film, which began in 2011 and continues today with Guy Montgomery’s Guy Mont Spelling Bee, of which the Australian version aired in August 2024.
