Pallavi Sharda is hard-working, determined and talented, and she has the resume to prove it.
As a recognisable face in Bollywood, America and Australia, Pallavi has held her own in the film industry and now works towards mentoring others on the same journey.
Growing up in Melbourne, Pallavi was a part of a tight knit Indian community where she learnt to dance Bharatnatyam from the age of three. Pallavi is incredibly academically inclined, and she skipped two grades at school before graduating at 16 and attending Melbourne University for a double degree in Law and Arts. Instead of taking the usual 6, Pallavi completed her degree in 4 and a half years. With honours.
In 2013, Pallavi boarded a flight, telling her parents that she was going to study her Masters overseas. Instead, Pallavi landed in Mumbai and began to work towards her dream of becoming a Bollywood Actress.
Pallavi’s breakout role was in Besharam, starring across from one of Bollywood’s biggest actors.
She is currently on the board of Screen Australia and is a huge advocate for more diaspora voices both on and behind the screen.
In 2023, Pallavi launched Bodhini Studios, which is committed to telling the stories of those who have previously been marginalised or reduced to stereotypes.
