Poh Ling Yeow is a multi-talented celebrity chef. Best known as a standout contestant and runner-up on the first season of MasterChef Australia, Poh quickly became a fan favorite by showcasing her innovative culinary skills and vibrant personality; eventually leading to her hosting own show, Poh’s Kitchen.
Just as Poh’s art explores notions of belonging and origin, so do her intentions with food. As a fifth-generation Chinese Malaysian, Poh’s interest in cooking began as an attempt at reconciling this heritage with her Western identity.
In 2024, 15 years since Poh was as a contestant in the first ever season of Masterchef Australia, Poh returned to the series as a main judge.
Beyond her MasterChef fame, Poh is also a talented artist, author, and TV presenter, who has authored several cookbooks: What I Cook When Nobody’s Watching, Poh’s Kitchen: My Cooking Adventures and Poh Bakes 100 Greats.
