Professor Tim Spector

Tim Spector is an award-winning scientist and author, with over 1,000 original articles published in some of the world’s top scientific journals, placing him in the top 1% most cited scientists on the planet.

Tim is a professor in Genetic Epidemiology at King’s College London, and the leader of the world’s largest identical twins study and registry, TwinsUK, which led him to write his best-selling book, Identically Different which looks at our genetic traits and how our environment impacts our genes.

He also wrote The Diet Myth which was the first introduction on the importance of the gut microbiome for human health for a wide non-scientific audience. It became an international bestseller. Tim’s latest book Food for Life takes an in-depth look at all of the latest scientific evidence on what we eat, how we eat it and why; and how we can use this knowledge to improve our own personal nutrition.

Tim is also the co-founder of Zoe, a nutritional science company that investigates how our biological responses to food are based on individual characteristics like the bacteria in your gut.
